Lucky escape

By The Siberian Times reporter
18 January 2013

A fireman escaped with his life after a giant slab of snow fell on him from an apartment block roof as he neared the top of his ladder to rescue a baby from a window of a burning apartment in Magadan.

Brave, strong ... and lucky! Fireman manages to hold on, and helps to rescue a child from a burning apartment

The jaw-dropping footage shows the lump of snow hit him, causing him to fall backwards down the ladder, head first towards the ground.

Somehow he clung on as his crew rushed to assist him. Another firefighter then rescued the baby from the window.
