Splash! Fans of FC Tom hosed with cold water in icy welcome to Novosibirsk

The Tomsk club has issued a formal protest after claiming its fans were sprayed by a water jet after a goal by rivals FC Sibir.

Freezing welcome - the fans of FC Tom are hosed with cold water during the game between FC Tom and FC Novosibirsk 

'We find such attitude unacceptable, and we have already submitted a letter addressed to the chief of Security and Co-operation with Fans, Andrey Pryadkin. We are hoping to hear from him as soon as possible,' said the club's website. 

Immediately after a goal scored by Sibir's Alexander Dimidko, a hose was directed at the section of the Spartak stadium in Novosibirsk occupied by Tomsk fans, it is claimed.

Images from the game on 31 October appear to confirm the Tomsk claims. 

At the time the fans were dowsed, temperatures in Novosibirsk were around zero degrees centigrade.
